The assault caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
